Before getting started with a tutorial you should become familar with the various parts of ThinkDigits.
The ThinkDigits calculator (shown below) is the main view within the application. From here you can perform calculations and manipulate numbers, notes and functions.

The calculator operates like a regular calculator with the addition of some special keys:

Settings Button

Allows you to access help and set your preferences for colours, background images and quick text labels. For more information on defining your preferences see Settings.

Calculator Display

The calculator display shows the result of calculations.
To keep the result of a calculation for later use simply drag and drop the calculator display into the page area of the screen. As you drag the calculator display, it will be converted into a tag that can be dropped into the page view for later use. See Using Tags.

C / Trash Key

You can use this key to clear the calculator display. To delete tags, functions or notes from your page you can simply drag them onto the Trash key.

Expand / Collapse Keyboard

To see more of your page you can collapse the calculator with the expand / collapse key. If the calculator is collapsed, you can restore it to full size by pressing the expand / collapse key.

Standard Calculator Operators

The keys all operate as standard calculator keys.
If you have a tag or function on your page, you can simply drop a tag or function directly on any of these keys.

Other Calculator Operators

Calculations can also be operated with the inverse , square root , negate and percentage buttons.

Page View Button

Allows you to enter page view and see an overview of the entire page. Using Page view you can delete pages, add new pages and send pages via email. (See Page View for more detail).
The Page View button will display the number of pages in your page collection.

Function Key

This key allows you to place function calculations into your pages for quick easy calculations. To add a new function to a page simply drag the key onto the page view. As the function is dragged onto the page view it will change into a function bubble. For more information on functions, see Using Function Bubbles.

Note Key

You can store text notes on your pages along with Tags and Function Bubbles. To add a note to your page, simply drag the note key onto your page. As you drag a sticky note will appear. See Editing Notes.

Page Area

To change page information and settings double tap on the Page Area.. In the page settings you can change the following:
  • Title – a name for your page. The page name appears on top of the page view.
  • Show in page – enables the display of a title inside the page
  • Colour – selects the colour of the title if shown inside a page
  • Notes – any page notes you might what to collect.
  • Theme – select a background from the library of background pictures or select a picture from your own picture collection
  • Theme Transparency – use the slider to alter the amount of transparency in your background theme.
